【Objective】 To determine the detection limit of formaldehyde emission detection methods for bamboo-based panels, and provide reference for formaldehyde emission detection work of testing agencies. 【Method】 According to the blank deviation method specified in HJ 168—2020,the detection limit of formaldehyde release from the artificial bamboo fiberboard boards by using the 1 m3 climate box method and desiccator method in GB/T 17657—2022 was evaluated. 【Result】 The results showed that the MDL of the 1 m3 climate chamber method was 0.013 mg·m-3 (10 mm optical path cuvette) and 0.006 mg·m-3 (50 mm optical path cuvette),while the MDL of the desiccator method was 0.035 mg·L-1 (10 mm optical path cuvette) and 0.022 mg·L-1 (50 mm optical path cuvette). The precision and accuracy of the formaldehyde standard solution met the requirements, and the actual detection values of bamboo-wood fiberboard showed good repeatability. 【Conclusion】 The evaluation results of the detection limits of the two methods met the expected requirements; The evaluation limit of the 50 mm optical path cuvette was lower and the actual measurement results of bamboo and wood fiberboard met the expected requirements,therefore,50 mm optical path cuvette is more suitable for the analysis and evaluation of low concentration formaldehyde in bamboo-based panels.
